Future Axe

We originally got this axe when it was a Kickstarter project... the leverage produced by the shape of the axe head combined with the brake that slows the twist resulting from splitting the wood is meant to make it easier and more effective to use.

The inventor suggests putting wood pieces in an old rubber tire, which keeps the wood in place and makes it possible to split many pieces with continuous swings instead of needing to reset the wood every time.

It's our go-to for breaking firewood into smaller pieces, which create a higher temperature for our wood-fired pizza oven.
