Slim Projector
Besides its adorable compact design, this projector is also very bright, making it possible to view fairly well even in the day time. The thing about projectors though, is that you usually have to give up one thing for another... in this case, you give up resolution in exchange for brightness. We've found the resolution to be totally sufficient, and the brightness feels fantastic for seeing detail, even in a dark movie.
And because it uses an LED bulb, it can run for over 20,000 hours before needing another bulb. The tiny bulbs are also relatively cheap (about $70 as opposed to $500 like our old projector!) While it's technically designed for presentation use, it also adapts great for watching HD movies, even if it's not giving you every single bit of resolution.
You can try it out for yourself at Cook House, paired with a flush, ceiling-recessed electric projection screen.
