Easy Hot Tub

We're not super fans of the idea of a giant mound of plastic taking up space outside on a deck or yard. But at the same time, some of the more romantic looking wood-built or wood-fired tubs require more time and financial commitment to use, clean, and maintain, meaning it may end up sitting unused or out of service (which is totally not the point unless you're just doing it for the photographs).

When the main purpose of something is to be therapeutic and relaxing (which this tub totally is), this all-in-one plug-and-play hot tub is an incredibly fast and efficient way to get more warm baths in your life.

It plugs into a standard 120V/15A outlet (with the option of converting to 240V for more efficiency in the winter). It's insulated enough to use all year-round even in the chilly Northeast. It comes with a cover (although we made some DIY adjustments to the attachments to make it a little smoother to connect). And of course there's an electronic control at the top to work the temperature, jets and colored lights.

A few other things were considerations for us... this tub is all one "rotomolded" piece of resin, which supposedly helps make it less susceptible to mice getting inside and trying to nest or eat the wires (which is evidently a thing). We also don't love all those sculpt-y seats in most hot tub designs... this model seemed like a good balance of simple-looking exterior and simpler interior (although it does still have some bumps and contours inside).

We were a little intimidated by the idea of having to put chemicals in the water, but so far we just got a floating dispenser and put in a couple of bromine tabs every week or two when it seems like it needs it. We also got a filter for our hose which takes metal and minerals out of the water when you fill-up the tub as well as the sodium bromide to boost the bromine levels at the start. We also got little test strips to check it out every so often.

One other note... these types of tubs usually say they seat 6 or more people... and yes, while there are technically that many individual seat positions it definitely would not be comfortable with that many adults inside at once since there really isn't space for everyone's legs. Works great for 2-4 at a time though :)
